This program is a fast track option towards permanent residence in Canada; it gives the provinces of Canada the authorization to nominate applicants who are interested in immigrating to Canada and especially to a province of their choosing. Wanting to settle in the province alone doesn’t cut it, however. An applicant must have the skills, work experience, relevant education levels, and a job offer so that they may contribute to the province’s economy.
A. If this program speaks to you, bear in mind the following:
- The applicant must be nominated by a Canadian province.
- The applicant must apply for permanent residence in Canada with the CIC
- Each province has its own guidelines for nomination and they can change without prior notice.
If you were nominated by a province prior to beginning the procedure with us: fill out our application form and one of our representatives will contact you.
B. Determining your eligibility and qualifying
The first thing to be done is to determine your job skill level. If it falls into the category of low or semi-skilled jobs (NOC C or D) you will be required to take an English or a French exam to prove your language proficiency: speaking, listening, writing and reading.
C. The application comprises of two steps:
As stated before, the criteria of the application may change at any moment, so be sure to visit the province’s website to follow all the updates.
You must apply with the province of your choice and mind that your application is tailored for the province’s immigration requirements and based based on your connection to the province.
After being nominated you will have to apply with the CIC for permanent resident status. At this stage, you will be required to pass a Canadian government issued medical examination and submit paperwork to confirm that you don’t have a criminal record. These checks are mandatory for all immigrants, regardless of program.
